Types of cutting:
Oxy/Flame Cutting is one of the low-cost cutting methods we use to make a steel plate cut to size using a CNC-controlled cutting machine. An oxy-acetylene flame is used for plates that are up to 75mm thick. To manufacture flame cut profiles, the flame starts by heating up a spot on the metal. A high-pressure stream of pure oxygen is then directed to this spot, which ignites the oxygen that allows for a clean cut.
Plasma Cutting uses a plasma stream to transfer energy to conductive work material. The plasma stream is typically formed by forcing a gas such as nitrogen, oxygen, argon or even air through a narrow nozzle. An electric current produced by an external power supply adds sufficient energy to the gas flow to ionize it, turning it into a plasma arc. Plasma cutting gives a high-definition finish very similar to laser cutting.
